Today we have great How To-sday from our design team member Staci Jones. She shows us a great project using all the scraps you're stashing you just can't bring yourself to part with.
Raise your hand if you have way too many scrappy supplies then you will ever need. Me! I definitely have a problem and an even bigger problem with hoarding scraps. I just can't seem to part with the last gem on the sheet, that small piece of cinch wire, the last couple pieces of a 6x6 pad and its scraps. You name it, I have got it stashed somewhere. Realizing this, I took the opportunity to share an easy way to use up some of those hoarded items.
I dug through my paper and found an almost gone Echo Park Be Mine 6x6 pad with about 9 sheets and tons of scraps from a previous project. Next, I dug through all of my embellishments for things that went with the collection and things that I could alter to match. A quick search for some black cardstock and a remnant of Cinch wire and I was all set.
My process for putting mini albums together usually begins with putting the pages in order and than sticking on paper scraps. I didn't have any chipboard to use for the cover, so I just used black cardstock. Then I will bind it with my Cinch machine.
Next up comes embellishing. Ribbons, twine, washi tape, jewels, buttons, brads, wood veneer, ink, and whatever else you want to use.
Just let your creativity flow when you do it. It's fun.
It took me a couple of hours do do and am happy say that I finished off a paper pad, and 4 different packages of embellishments that I have had for too long. I haven't decided what to use it for yet, but it is completed and ready to use. I could save it for a gift, maybe throw some pics of the hubby and I in there with some love notes, or give it to my daughter to fill with picks of her own. So many possibilities!
Thanks for stopping by today. Go check out your stash and see what you can use up today!
